Focused on all aspects of hand crafted, Bordeaux styled, small lot wine production. +/- 13,000 case/year• Handled all tasks relevant to crushing and vinifying grapes, including operation of destemmer/crusher, running pump-overs and punch-downs, additions (SO2, DAP, Tartaric Acid, tannin, yeasts etc.), sanitation procedures for tanks and equipment, barrel preparation, barreling of finished wine, and operation of presses and forklifts. • Works with Chardonnay, Viognier, Vidal Blanc, Traminette, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Tannat, Nebbiolo, Syrah, Sangiovese, Chambourcin• Execute day-to-day winery operations such as racking, topping, lees stirring, sanitation procedures, etc.• Testing and analysis of wines including FSO2, TA, pH, Turbidity, Dissolved Oxygen and Alcohol; making adjustments and additions as needed; accurately recording actions and data• Blending, adjusting, and filtering wines for bottling events; • Participates in blending trials, blind tastings, fining trials• Vineyard sampling and reporting; additional vineyard work such as pruning, tying, hedging, lateral and leaf pulling, composting, and harvesting as time allows• Participates in Winemaker round table discussions and regularly communicates with fellow winemakers regarding regional issues and winemaking techniques• Manage winery production operations during winemaker absences
