Then made it a reality, adding it to our CI/CD pipeline and rolling it out to all dev squads, providing training in how to use it an how to do unit testing in general.

After graduating from QUT I returned to HKJCS and was part of the team that introduced SmartCards to pay for bets purchased from the self vending betting terminals in the Shatin and Happy Valley racecourses in Hong Kong. Developed Windows C++ server and GUI applications for the SmartCard operator terminals which allowed operators to issue and top-up the SmartCards for customers. Provided onsite installation and support of the all of the operator terminals in the two racecourses in Hong Kong.In January 1998 HKJCS Australia closed down and the functions were moved back to Hong Kong.

As part of QUT's Cooperative Education Program I spent a year as a student software engineer with the HKJCS between my 2nd & 3rd years of university. I helped write the C++ server application to handle modem calls from the Hong Kong Jockey Club's Customer Input Terminals (CIT) - an early handheld device that customers could use to view details about the Hong Kong horse races and to place bets over a landline. As part of this project I provided onsite setup and support of the system in Hong Kong.
