About Scott Thigpen
I love telling stories. And I love to lead others who love telling stories. So I've been fortunate to create many film & television projects, as well as manage the strategy and teams of some great organizations.As a filmmaker, I’ve co-produced and edited the Emmy Award-winning Holocaust documentary "Burning Questions;" wrote, produced and directed "The Last Child," which examined the global polio eradication initiative; produced the women’s empowerment documentary feature "A Powerful Noise," which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and is currently available on Netflix and Hulu. In recognition of International Women’s Day, I developed and produced the events, "A Powerful Noise LIVE" and "Half the Sky LIVE," both simulcast in nearly 500 theatres nationwide.While Director of Advertising & Media Production for CARE, I developed numerous public service ad campaigns and was part of the team that successfully re-branded the 60-yr-old humanitarian organization. I’ve created projects for the International Trachoma Initiative, the Captain Planet Foundation, the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran, and the Smithsonian Institution. My work has aired on ABC, NBC, PBS, CNN, NHK, Al Jeezera and other networks worldwide. In addition to managing the day-to-day operations of Crazy Legs Productions, I've directed many episodes of our shows, including "Hidden City" and "Faked Out" for Travel Channel, and "Swamp Murders", "Bloodlands" and "Your Worst Nightmare" for Investigation Discovery. I'm currently Chair of the Atlanta chapter of the Producers Guild of America.
