Some tasks I have completed: converted a Sybase database to PostgreSQL using Korn shell/sed/awk scripting, oddly enough this was the easiest way to do it. Much experience with trying to be compliant with PCI security and hardening the network and documentation. Moved our entire production environment from one location to another with minimal downtime.Converted our entire production environment from Solaris servers to Xen Hypervisors on IBM X3550 servers in a matter of a week (with an initial setup time of two months)

    Responsible for all Sun systems running the cybermeals site (now defunct, it was originally cyberslice.com, then cybermeals.com then food.com), and all NT workstations. Designed and implemented all Sun equipment (DNS, http, WebObjects, O/S, ntp) and network connectivity from the start of cybermeals (originally cyberslice). Installed and helped design SCO UNIX machines that make all of the phone calls for customer orders. Configured Samba for NT/ 95/98 file services on Sun platforms. Good working knowledge of SQL programming and reporting functions (attaching to Sybase databases). Wrote many scripts (ksh, sed, awk) for billing features and reporting of web-site activity. Configured installed and built most of the PC’s that are used in the office. Designed network and phone connections between San Francisco and Seattle offices. Designed network and machine fail-over in case of disaster. Sun equipment includes Enterprise 4000’s, Ultra II’s, Ultra I’s and Ultra 5/10 systems with Sparc Storage Arrays and Tape Storage Arrays. Good knowledge of Windows NT/95/98 and SCO UNIX.

Streamlined a process for downloading information from the main databases to the ultrasound equipment (from 15-30 minutes to about 1 minute).
