About Scott Trager
My expertise is in the observation and modeling of the evolution of galaxies, in particular their stellar and gas contents, with a specialization in the stellar populations of the simple-looking "early-type" (elliptical and lenticular) galaxies. I also build astronomical instruments, including WEAVE, a new massively-multiplexed spectrograph for the William Herschel Telescope on La Palma in the Canary Islands. I am the Project Scientist, Deputy Principal Investigator, and Dutch Principal Investigator for WEAVE.Specialties: Astronomy: stellar populations, spectroscopy, photometry, galaxy formation models, globular clusters, astronomical instrumentation
