I am the Production Manager of our third-generation family business. Wert Bookbinding is a full-service bookbinder located in central Pennsylvania. My father, John J. Wert, Jr., started the business in 1960 primarily as a library bookbinder working with college and university libraries and their collections throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. In our 50+ years, we still provide the same quality library binding that we always have, but over the decades we have added products and services that allow us to meet a broader range of customer needs. One of these areas is short-run on-demand printing and binding, both hardcover and softcover. We take great pride in processing production runs of 2 to 5,000 books quickly and the way our customers want them. We offer various leaf attachment methods – double-fan adhesive binding, smythe fold sewing, single fold sewing, oversewing, and PUR perfect binding (softcover and hardcover). We also offer a full-service hand bindery which provides preservation and conservation services, Bible rebinding, deacidification, and encapsulation.
