I have responsibility for the UK & International Engineering, Manufacturing & Construction Portfolio of products and services for the City & Guilds Group. Through close liaison with key stakeholders, industry, the education sector and government I'm responsible for setting the strategy for future developments for skills acquisition in the Engineering, Manufacturing & Construction sectors. The portfolio covers qualifications from levels 1 -7 for the full time 14-19 market including T-Levels and all apprenticeship standards & EPA across the sectors including aviation, Maritime and advanced manufacturing with some routes restricted to the RAF and MOD.

As the worlds leading learning company; I was Responsible for the full UK portfolio of Engineering & Construction Qualifications. Liaising with DfE, industry, the education sector and government. I was responsible for setting the strategy for future developments for qualifications in the Engineering & Construction sector.

Reporting into the Deputy Principle I lead a team of around 70 staff including 2 deputy's, 4 curriculum managers and supported by 4 administrators. The department offers an extensive curriculum across 3 campuses from entry level through to foundation degree in engineering, motor vehicle, construction trades and professional construction. We have around 1300 students including a strong apprenticeship provision. I'm committed to ensuring the department offers an outstanding demand Led and innovative curriculum across all areas.

Responsible for the Management of the following Curriculum areas within the Directorate of Construction & Engineering: Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Electrical Installation, Plumbing heating & Ventilation, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning. Along with this I am also responsible for the Gas Safe Training centre & the Halls Training Centre which run as stand alone business entities. I am responsible for 35 staff which includes 4 Curriculum supervisors who have day to day management responsibilities for the areas above. My roll includes all areas of Curriculum Design, including Full cost 16-19, 19+ & Apprenticeships at all levels from entry through to HNC/D. I also manage the department budget, all aspects of quality and right the annual SAR report.

I worked as part of a global Research & Development team which included the project management of global refrigeration projects centred around compressor & Pack design for the industrial and commercial refrigeration & Air Conditioning sector. The roll required world wild travel which included travel to Manufacturing sites in Italy, America, Japan & China.During my time here I was also part of the project team that developed the technology and process for the remanufacturing of scroll compressors which also won 'environmental product of the year' at the industry cooling awards.

Development engineer responsible for the development of fluid systems centred around the use of Magnetorheological fluids (MR) & Electrorheological (ER) fluids mainly for the semiconductor industry.

After completing my 4 year advanced apprenticeship as an Apprentice Mechanical Engineer I worked in the planning office planning jobs for production. Parts produced were for industries such as telecoms, Aerospace, Defence and Medical.
