As a partner at Blank Rome and member of the firm’s Financial Institutions Litigation and Regulatory Compliance practice, I serve as a first chair attorney, managing litigation and compliance teams representing financial institutions and technology adjacent companies. In this role, I have successfully led the defense of numerous individual and putative class action lawsuits, regulatory proceedings, and arbitrations brought under federal and state consumer financial services statutes and corresponding implementing regulations. I also represent our financial services clients in responding to and defending against government investigations, subpoenas, audits, and civil investigative demands from federal, state, and municipal regulators. In this regard, I collaborate extensively with clients to understand and achieve key business objectives through designing compliance procedures and strategic risk management policies for financial products and service offerings. This is especially consequential as it relates to the intersection of consumer financial services and emerging technologies governed by potentially outdated statutes. In this regard, I have both a legal and technical understanding of fintech, and I assist clients with overcoming and mitigating legal exposure for adopting novel strategies and uses of emerging technologies.In addition, I provide our financial services clients with comprehensive legal and strategic support, often filling the role of outside general counsel or aiding general counsel, with third party due diligence, contract drafting and negotiating with vendors, regulatory audit preparedness, legal analysis and interpretations, internal safety and soundness examinations, licensing, employee trainings, and comprehensive compliance guidance for operational or technology modifications.

Completed three-year term as Chair of the Banking Law Committee for the New York State Bar Association, attending to the requirements for evaluating and addressing major and developing issues affecting depository institutions and other financial services providers. As Chair, I presided over the Committee's responsibility for examining and developing initiatives covering regulatory and legislative matters, as well as related areas of significance. The Committee members include in-house general counsel, outside counsel, and regulatory agency attorneys, all coming from a variety of financial services disciplines and areas of specialization.

As Chair of the Firm’s Consumer Financial Services Litigation and Compliance Group, I represented a wide variety of financial institutions, including banks, FinTech platforms, and providers in the credit and accounts receivable management industry. In addition to handling regulatory investigations, and defending individual and class action lawsuits, my practice included advising clients on corporate and compliance policies and procedures, audit controls, cyber-security controls, business continuity, and compliance training programs.

I was the attorney in charge of the firm’s creditors’ rights insurance defense litigation practice group, serving as lead defense counsel and managing attorney of individual and class action lawsuits, as well as administrative and regulatory actions.

I was retained to coordinate and institute strategies for what ultimately was a successful judicial campaign for Hon. Fred Arriaga to serve Kings County as a Civil Court Judge.
