About Scott Wright

I am passionate about emerging technology, the future of possibilities, and enabling teams to become the best versions of themselves that they can be through servant leadership and a bias for action. I started my career as a Software Developer and became an IT Executive with experience building and leading delivery within application development and data platform teams across a variety of businesses. As the Director of Data Platforms, Architecture and Strategy at Liberty Mutual I built new teams to deliver value from emerging technical capabilities for the business, a data program from a team of 8 that grew to a full agile train with 9 teams of 65 people, and delivered on every facet of a data strategy from ingestion and storage to reporting and advanced analytics. At OfferUp I led the build out of a data warehouse and business intelligence team that redefined how we produced, managed and interacted with data , ready to scale for a rapidly growing and world class mobile marketplace!Now at Live Oak Bank, I'm building out a new data delivery and analytics platform that will enable the bank to better serve small business founders across the country. Live Oak is 'dedicated to the doers' and building data products that better serve our teams and our customers is my focus. If you ask my teams how would they describe me they have shared with me that they see me as a capable servant leader, willing to jump in and help with hands on work, but focused on getting the right people to work on the most important problems and then getting out of their way. I am humbled by the enormous talent of my teams and feel fortunate to collaborate with technology builders on the leading edge of emerging tech.
