Working directly with PMs and customers to design solutions to meet our customers’ needs in the enterprise across multiple clouds with features like managed virtual networks, resource administration and detailed overview dashboards.

Senior Software Engineer on the Azure Machine Learning Data Experiences team.

I am on the Azure Machine Learning Core UI team. Working directly with project and program managers to find and solve customer needs in the Azure Machine Learning online workspace. Helping to build robust frameworks on top of React and Typescript to support our many partner UI teams. Improving customer experience through implementing standards across our partner teams and backing services.

I was on the frontend web application team. Worked directly with program managers to design and implement new features. Integrated closely with the backend team to ensure smooth and successful releases to production. Lifted legacy Ruby on Rails pages to modern React. Implemented standards for testing application functionality within the cucumber framework.

As development lead on high visibility client projects Iworked on frontend and backend services using NodeJS andExpress. Helped define the CI/CD process for the systemsintegration team and headed efforts to integrate Docker intothe development workflow. Wrote highly available services tobe deployed to AWS and integrated with CI services like CircleCI. Gained experience with TDD, increasing developmentefficiency by reducing errors and debugging time. Developeduniversal JavaScript applications using React and Redux.

I enjoyed my work at Bear but felt that it was time to take the next step in my career, so I took a position on Vertafore's new mobile app development team. Here I developed hybrid mobile apps using the Angular framework and the apache cordova project. I had the opportunity to thoroughly improve my JavaScript development skills and become an expert with the Angular framework. Our mobile apps rely heavily on web services using the OData standard and because of this we found the lack of robust battle tested OData JavaScript clients a challenge. To try and fill that gap I began work on an open source project called Flowdata.On occasion we needed access to some native functionality on a mobile device, and working with cordova that meant developing a plugin. Through the development of cordova plugins I gained experience with both Android and iOS.

About a year after starting at Bear I transitioned into a senior position. This position included new responsibilities around leadership. I took leadership of a development team of about 5 developers. The team practiced agile development and my role included some product owner responsibilities. This included meeting with clients regularly to iterate on projects, demo progress and get feedback. Then processing that feedback into stories and prioritizing based on our sprint schedule.

Bear Data Solutions acquired ISpro and I continued to work in a similar role as before. With the acquisition we gained more customers and broadened our development capabilities. In addition to ASP.NET I began to work with the Ruby language and got some experience creating Rails applications. I was also able to gain experience with Node by writing tools for our team to use in NodeJS. At this time is when I began the jugglingdb-mssql adapter open source project which later got adopted by the Quadrus organization.

ISpro had contracts to provide software development and support to Northrop Grumman and other organizations. We provided services in .NET and MSSQL. I learned to develop with the C# language and became a certified Microsoft professional developer with the ASP.NET framework. Here is also where I first learned to design relational databases and write SQL scripts and stored procedures.
