How did a college dropout with bipolar disorder go on to run a multiple six-figure agency, become a bestselling author, & co-host a top charting podcast? My path has not been a linear one, nor has it been on a traditional ladder where the next step was mapped out or given to me. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at the age of twenty & when it was becoming convincingly clear that I was unable to function in society - I dropped out of college & quit every minimum wage job I was offered from gelato scooping to being a hostess - I found entrepreneurship. It started at a coffee shop at the age of 22, sipping on chai lattes & chatting with a friend. I was flipping through the pages of an indie magazine when I suddenly blurted out, “Do you want to start a magazine?” I went from barely holding it together as a barista - on a constant trial & error journey with psychiatric medication, in & out of therapists office, and had graduated from an inpatient & outpatient program - to having musician Halsey grace the cover of my third edition that Barnes & Noble distributed to each of their locations. The moment I found entrepreneurship was the moment I learned how to fight for my life. It was the moment my bipolar disorder found something it could work with.I started Okay Sis Podcast in August of 2018 with my sister. As our audience grew & our guests became more & more inspiring, I recognized the power of podcasting as a form of PR. And so, I started Scout’s Agency. Today, Scout’s Agency is a PR agency that amplifies female voices through podcast guesting and traditional PR. We have gotten incredible clients like Rebecca Minkoff, Catt Sadler, Kelley Baker, Damona Hoffman, Lauren McGoodwin, Jessica Zweig, and Vanessa Rissetto on a plethora of top podcasts like Ladygang, Almost 30, hey, girl., Build Your Tribe, Gettin’ Grown, The Blonde Files. www.scoutsagency.comInspired by my journey living with bipolar disorder that have made me successful in business, led me to launching my debut book, The Emotional Entrepreneur. My book is the ultimate emotional guidebook to entrepreneurship. It is comprised of 25 mindset/emotional lessons & these lessons have made me feel safe in my emotional experience architecting my dream life. I also host SCOUT Podcast, which is a solo podcast that focuses on the intersection between mental health and entrepreneurship.Through all of the iterations of me, at the core I am The Emotional Entrepreneur.
