Aug 2009 - Jun 2013Robutel Ltd. is an R&D company that is acquired by Sanko Holding (due to the intra-logistics factory robot R&D) in 2013 and later on restructured as Robutel Corp. As the founder of the company I worked hands-on on all projects and managed a team of 4 engineers.Between 2009 and 2013 at Robutel Ltd. I worked on mainly the following contract jobs:- Profile forming machinery for housing projects: This machine received the design of the frame of a house and via the user panel of the on board PC will automatically produce every single profile part and mark them according to its future location. The machine produces the profiles by cutting, bending and forming rolled sheet metal with hydraulic actuators and feedback sensors.- Modular ERP software: Custom ERP software for factories written in C++ that keeps track of production, sales, product trees, etc... Every part of the software is modular and communicates with other components using a custom inter module messaging protocol.- Robotic knee surgery: I worked on the feasibility study of a robotic knee surgery robot that would assist cutting the knee bone of patients in a very sensitive way. The current manual method for the surgery is done using hand tools like hammers.- Ticket vending machine: A machine that accepts paper/metallic money and according to the selection made to the GUI provides the amount of tickets. The machine is cloud connected and provides inventory/sales tracking via its php web server application. The on board PC software is written in C++ and embedded software for the custom boards is written in C. This machine uses various proprietary protocols to interface with money handling components.Robutel Ltd. also worked on the design of a forklift type robot that can automatically navigate in factories/warehouses, detect loads and carry them to targets. All robot software is written in C++ and C. Machine vision, control engineering and similar features are developped.

Şti. and during my studies in TOBB ETÜ with my professors I mainly worked on:- OpenGL ES GPU digital design emulator: I wrote the emulator in C-sharp according to the OpenGL ES guidelines. The emulator closely matched the way the digital design was going to be implement. Rasterizers, re-ordering, tri-bi linear filtering and similar features are first tested in the emulator and then implemented in the digital design.- OpenGL ES GPU driver development: For the OpenGL ES GPU chip to work with a PC, I developped a C++ driver. It mainly received OpenGL ES commands and produced binary control commands to the OpenGL ES GPU design. Some processing is done by the driver to get the load off the GPU. - OpenGL ES GPU digital design: Designed in Verilog and tested on Altera FPGA development boards. It was capable of drawing complex objects, trilinear filtering, colorization, etc.. - 32bit Microprocessor digital design (Kasırga 1,2 and 3 microprocessors): Designed in Verilog and tested on both Altera and Xilinx FPGAs. The 32bit microprocessor can handle standard instructions such as add/move/multiply/jump/etc.. Received CPU Turkey prize for the design.- Autonomous parking car project (with Microchip microcontrollers and C)- Remote robotic pathfinder system (ETUS) (with Microchip microcontrollers and C)- Microprocessors Lab Setup (as a voluntary lab assistant, 8051 microcontrollers)- Internet Radio Project (with Ruby as the language of choice)

Part-Time R&D PersonnelErendiz Süperbilgisayar Ltd. Şti. 2008 - 2009At Erendiz Supercomputing I worked as a part time R&D personnel primarily doing:- Digital design in Verilog,- Driver development in C++The project I worked on was a C++ to Verilog accelerator that was capable of accelerating normal C++ algorithms upto 50 times on special parallel hardware. The parallel hardware basically consists of PCI-Express connected Xilinx Virtex 5 FPGAs.I mainly developped the driver that was capable of communicating with the PCI-Express board and that could carry commands from the software part of the algorithm to the Verilog FPGA design and vice versa.For the digital design part of the project I mainly worked on:- MESI memory management core design for parallel cores (to speed up algorithms, various cores run in parallel and have to share the same memory space),- Parallelizing (by hand) various C++ algorithms, implementing them in Verilog and conducting the test using the C++ driver I developped,- Proving that hardware parallelization methods can actually speed up algorithms by doing a proof of concept systemAt the accelerator project, I was not involved with the C++ to Verilog code converter. I was mainly responsible of the hardware and firmware part of the POC.
