I will also be using my maritime experience/background to build up a professional mariner elective course to assist the cadets with pursuing a maritime career that might not involve serving in the US Coast Guard or Navy.Additionally, I'm responsible for the Supply Room that has $800,000 worth of Navy uniform items and I'm the Air Rifle Coach.

Task Oriented Manager responsible for Business Development, Marketing, and Sales for the Maritime Simulation division at Buffalo Computer Graphics, a small, well established engineering firm located in Western New York.• Worked with the staff of the maritime simulations solutions division to seek out new opportunities in the radar and communication simulation world of work.• Reviewed government contracts and other purchasing documents to ensure compliance with statements of work, RFPs, and other source documents.• Wrote proposals, quotes, and other documents in response to customer's needs.• Created and maintained all marketing materials including social media posts, website pages, online newsletter, and product literature to engage potential and recurring customers.• Represented BCG at domestic and international trade shows as an exhibitor and attendee.• Assisted BCG engineers and technicians with deliverable testing and quality control prior to shipping software and/or hardware simulators to our customers around the globe.

Lead point of contact for any cutter boat or seamanship issue for over 250 Coast Guard Cutters (ships) and the 8000 men and women who serve on them.• Developed doctrine and policy for seamanship issues.• Assisted in the acquisition of eight different boat types.• Created, reviewed, and approved six Coast Guard manuals and instructions that created or revised policies and doctrine covering various aspects of operational missions within the Coast Guard. • Managed the interface evaluation team for ship and small boat interface ensuring the safety of personnel during launching and recovery of small boats from 4 different classes of CG ships.• Led the project to create the ‘Cutterman Memorial’ at Coast Guard Headquarters for over 1200 Coast Guard men and women who lost their lives while serving aboard a Coast Guard cutter.• Program Manager for the Master Cutterman Certificate program.• Identified and initiated action to change critical safety concerns throughout the Coast Guard cutter fleet. • Coordinated the publication of a towing study to enable operational commanders the ability to safely task units with towing operations within their capability.• Created a series of competencies to allow personnel assigned to Coast Guard ships to adequately document and be rewarded for qualifications and certifications achieved in a variety of positions.

Commanded a 10 person unit that maintained and repaired ATON on the eastern half of Lake Erie, the Niagara River, and Lake Ontario.• Directed the safe operation, mission performance, training, and financial management of a command with 49 foot and 26 foot vessels assigned.• Serviced and maintained over 250 ATON, 100 of which were seasonal aids which removed or replace during the winter.• Executed an annual operating budget of approximately $100k.• Managed an estimated property inventory in excess of $2.0 million dollars.• Managed the information system used to the readiness and status off all assigned ATON• Worked with the Great Lakes Pilot Association and the Army Corp of Engineers on numerous projects and the seasonal aid availability of aids that are critical to shipping of grain and heating oil to the Western New York area.• Trained and familiarized over 25 Coast Guard volunteers on the verification of aids to navigation and discrepancy reporting.

Chesapeake, Va

Supervised a deployable team of 18-30 individuals for maritime security and force protection at various seaports and nautical events on the eastern seaboard. Served as the senior enlisted advisor to the Commanding Officer.• Senior enlisted member of the command for the stand-up of the first Maritime Safety and Security Team (MSST) on the East Coast. Worked with the command to establish policy and practices that were subsequently passed onto other teams.• Deployable team leader (DTL) on numerous homeland security deployments along the eastern seaboard of the United States. Provided both security of high value assets or National Special Security Events and familiarization with the new MSST capability.• Liaised with Captains of the Port, CG and other law enforcement and public safety agency leadership establishing a positive work environment for my team and local agencies.• Served as assistant DTL on a 3 month deployment to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba with 45 personnel.• Trained and managed the readiness of all assigned personnel.• Directed the maintenance and operational readiness of six response boats, seven trucks, and trailers; value of this equipment totaled roughly $2.25 million dollars.• Conducted a 4 week tactical boat operations event in conjunction with the CG training center in Yorktown, VA

Greater Philadelphia Area

Department head responsible for the maintenance and readiness of the survival equipment, aids to navigation (200+ buoys), and rigging components. I also served as a Deck Watch Officer.

San Francisco Bay Area

2nd in command of an 82' Coast Guard Patrol Boat in San Francisco. I oversaw the unit's budget, property records, training program, and galley finances. Operationally, I served as Deck Watch Officer, lead Boarding Officer (enforcing Federal Laws), and senior coxswain (small boat driver) and as the Commanding Officer in the CO's absense.

San Francisco Bay Area

2nd in Command of the Aids to Navigation Team (ANT) that was responsible for most aids to navigation in Central California. Duties included Coxswain, ATON Technician, Property and Financial Officer, and Training Officer.

My primary duties included: Search and Rescue Boat Coxswain, Boarding Officer, Weapons Petty Officer, First Lieutenant, and Asst Operations Officer.When not doing admin work related to the above duties, I drove either a 41' Utility Boat or a 44' Motor Lifeboat off the coast of Southern Califronia from Malibu to Santa Barbara including Anacapa and Santa Cruz Islands.
