As a member of the Socioeconomic Research Group at the Center for Business and Economic Research in Alabama, I provide analysis that synthesizes employment, GDP, population, and other demographic data. This analysis is tailored to offer specific insight through economic impact studies for private companies or for larger understanding of the Alabama economy for business and government leaders. Additionally, I plan, conduct, and analyze results of the quarterly Alabama Business Confidence Index analysis, which includes communicating with over 500 business leaders throughout the state, analyzing data and creating reports using Python, and updating the mobile-friendly website version of the reports. I also serve as the metropolitan area specialist, generating tables and writing metro area sections for the annual Alabama Economic Outlook publication. At CBER, I am also the lead for the Alabama State Data Center, where I coordinate data dissemination throughout the state and maintain communication within the network of 26 agencies that make up the State Data Center network. I also respond to public requests for socioeconomic data and analysis. Leading up to the 2020 Census, I have organized 20 free sessions throughout the state, with over 630 attendees, where speakers from the Census Bureau can address local governments and help them participate in the surveys fully, ensuring correct data and federal funding in the years to come.
