SCTE India is a non-profit organization managed by an Executive Committee consisting of volunteers from the wireline networking industry in India. It blossoms into a group of engineers, technicians, installers and like-minded professionals involved in broadband communications who wish to share their technical expertise with others to improve the general standing of this industry in India. The objective of SCTE India is not only to provide training and networking opportunities to the wireline broadcasting industry but also caters to the needs of the wireless sector. The Society particularly concerns itself with the training and career advancement of technical professionals in the field. The SCTE also provides accreditation and certification for its members, giving them professional standing within the industry. SCTE certified professionals have been responsible for building Digital Cable giants like Comcast, UPC to name a few and have contributed towards building robust networks and an exceptional technical pool which build, manage and maintain the networks. As India goes digital, SCTE India has embarked upon the charter that would assist in skilling the Indian wireline telecommunications fraternity by training, accreditation and certification. The society has launched the official course books for its broadband training series which is aimed at broadband installation technicians, service technicians and network technicians. The courses are suitable for home-study or instructor-led use. The three courses, Installation Technicians, Service Technicians and Network Technicians, follow in sequence and are designed to build up knowledge in a logical manner. SCTE training courses have gained wide acceptance as the standard for young technicians wishing to enter the field of cable telecommunications and for those wishing to advance their knowledge and career prospects.
