Overseeing an estmated $18 Million in funding among MDH’s four impactful grant programs: Eliminating Health Disparities (EHDI), Community Solutions Fund (CSF), Capacity Strengthening Grant (CSG), and Covid-19 Community Engagement and Diverse Media (CEDM) through strategic planning, equitable grant making, and community/CBO empowerment. Committed to fostering collaboration, ensuring program efficacy, compliance, and advancing equity initiatives that make a lasting impact on health while addressing capacity building initiatives among 130+ grantees across MN.

The Eliminating Health Disparities Initiative (EHDI), established by the Minnesota State Legislature, invests over $5 million dollars annually in community initiatives that address health inequities for populations of color and American Indians across eight different priority health areas. EHDI grants are awarded through a competitive grant application process emphasizing community feedback and provide funding to a cohort of ~30 non profits, tribal, and health systems working towards reducing and eliminating health inequities across Minnesota.

Statewide oversight of Tuberculosis (TB) Prevention and Surveillance activities which included development of TB disease management guidance along with nurse case management oversight for TB, coordination of treatment regimen, TB testing, disease investigation, and TA/training responsibilities. The work consistently involved collection, analysis, and interpretation of TB data, reporting, and serving as a State point of contact for CDC and Interjurisdictional EDN transfers. Other tasks involved providing outreach and education to physicians on TB Disease care and treatment while liaising with local public health units and Tribal Nations across the state.
