As a manufacturing engineer at the Electrical Systems Responsibility Center I support the engineering and planning team for optimizing build processes for wire bundles used on 777 program and other Boeing airplanes.

Sarah Darr started working with Gateway Grant Services in Spring of 2018. She has a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering and worked in the Fiber Optics Tech field before taking time off to raise four kids with her husband, Dan. With her strength in technical writing honed in the engineering field, Sarah uses precise language required for grant applications. She does most of the Grant Calendar Management (GCM) at Gateway, researching new grants and applying her computer skills to find solutions for data collection and analysis for our clients. She reaches out to funders and seeks to improve every client’s narrative to keep the “ask” accurate and timely. With Sarah’s help, our clients never miss a grant deadline. Her stellar budget skills push up the quality of our client’s grant submissions. Internally, she has been responsible for a number of improvements that streamline Gateway’s writing and submission process. Without her we would literally cry. When not improving the Gateway experience for clients, Sarah can be found planning her next vacation getaway and or driving her kids to dentist appointments. She has calmly weathered the COVID-19 isolation like a true introvert, with more books.

Promoted to Lead Consultant, responsibilities include all former responsibilities in addition to developing relationships with clients and driving writing projects from start to finish. Lead consultant works with other consultants for editing and improving products. Responsible for Grant Calendar Management - continuing funding research for existing clients and keeping accurate records of submitted grants and deadlines for upcoming grants. Uses technical strengths to improve all processes, make reports, create surveys and write social media copy.

Supported 24/7 operation of eight Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier (EDFA) tests sets. Performed Error of Measurement studies (statistical analysis) as part of the six sigma program. Revised and maintained configuration drawings for each test set. Procured and validated new test sets.
