I now have been a Chicago resident for about 13 years. Living in this city has taught me a great deal about urban structure, the creation and usage of space and form, and the occupation of public and private dwellings. It has really changed my views on a lot of things; mostly of how so many people can live in one small area, and how people in a city conform to sharing small spaces, lacking privacy, and utilizing public transit and outdoor spaces that are shared with thousands of strangers every day.As you can see, I have held a few different positions since moving here. I believe it has turned me into a sort of jack of all trades. I have done the very technical, to the very visual, to the very informal, to the very formal. Architecturally, I can draft you an extremely technical floor plan, create a rendering that will sell your space to a potential client, or help you portray your next design idea to the city planning board. I also have a strong fascination with history and the way that it has impacted the political, economic, and social problems in the city. The challenge it presents is one I enjoy investigating; how design can challenge these boundaries and create social and economic equality in housing and public spaces. About 6 years ago, I made a transition in my career that has led to a great deal of self-growth and career growth. I switched my career from that of architecture to more of an engineering platform. In these few years, I have become much more efficient in drafting and understanding technical systems, both within electrical and telecom drawings.Within the last 3 years, I have grown more to become involved in project management. I have also gained responsibility for employees and become a manager in career growth for others and all that that entail.Specialties: engineering, management, document control, telecommunications, representation, planning, deep intellectual thinking as far as socioeconomic systems and issues, drafting, rendering, sketching, dimensioning, logical thinking and problem solving.
