Deniz is the founder of Navigator of Giftedness, which supports families of gifted youth. She also works as a parent educator at Parents Place, focusing on identifying and supporting childhood giftedness. She is a trained facilitator for Social-Emotional Needs for Gifted (SENG), serves as Board Member for the California Association for the Gifted (CAG), and on the Parent Content & Advisory Board for National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC). Also, she has been a reviewer for proposal submissions for NAGC’s annual convention for the last few years. She received a Professional Academic Certificate in Twice Exceptional Education at Bridges Graduate School of Cognitive Diversity in Education. Her interests include recognizing unique profiles of neurodiverse learners, especially the twice-exceptional learners who have high intellectual abilities with specific learning differences and behavioral and social challenges. She advocates for appropriate academic, social, and emotional accommodations for gifted children. She is passionate about enhancing learning outcomes for all children, especially those in disadvantaged communities. She is a tireless advocate for gifted children and their families through consultations, educational advocacy, parent groups, workshops, and social-emotional learning opportunities. Deniz is a well-informed professional with a strong work ethic and passion for serving gifted youth. She lives with her family in Bay Area. Previously, Deniz was a member of the National Turkish Chess Youth Team and worked as a Data Analyst in Turkey.
