This entailed Citrix Cloud, Citrix NetScaler, Citrix DaaS and Citrix Provisioning. Due to the fact that we were not allowed any downtime at a hospital of this size, it was imperative to execute component upgrades over specific times when the least number of employees would have access to the system. Procedures and policies were created based on project outcome, team members’ feedback, past experiences/issues, vendor documents and phone conversation, and compliance requirements. Bringing the customer up to date with the vendor’s latest software allowed the customer a security blanket knowing the compliance updates would cover the maintenance for the for the next five (5) years. Having the latest software code addressed many security loopholes, which were fixed in the new release of the software. -

The environment was on a quickly approaching end of life Citrix platform and needed to be migrated to Citrix’s next version. A framework was erected along with placement and configuration of essential Citrix components; storefront, delivery controllers, license server, PVS, SQL Databases, NetScaler MPX appliances, Test/Dev Farm, all on VMware hardware. Migrating Citrix to the next version entailed utilizing VMware, updating the VMShells, the VMware tools, the virtual machine and corresponding Windows updates.The environment had outgrown the Citrix NetScaler VPX 1000. The organization wanted to take advantage of Citrix NetScaler MPX 11500. I was tasked with ordering, racking, and stacking, configuring, and rerouting the traffic from the VPX NetScaler to the new MPX NetScalers.The organization wanted to take advantage of the MPX capabilities of Global Server Load Balancing for their multiple sites across the country, implement two-factor authentication and leverage the NetScaler’s to replace their Big IP solution for load balancing. I was responsible for setting up the framework and process for GSLB and setting corresponding polices to start migrating the companies load balancing efforts from the F5s to Citrix to consolidate core hardware and reduce cost. -
