Operations Manager
CurrentCanada Running Series consists of 9 road races held annually across the 4 cities of Vancouver, Edmonton, Montreal, and Toronto. The flagship Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon regularly draws over 25,000 runners, representing over 75 countries. Executing events of this scale and magnitude, across multiple venues, and cities requires an incredible amount of logistical planning, coordination, communication, and precision execution from the Operations Team. As Operations Manager, some of those responsibilities include the following:Supply Management- Responsible for event supplies including sourcing, tendering, ordering, receiving and tracking inventory. Operational Planning- Work with the venue & course teams to ensure a thorough understanding of their requirements, create the plans for staffing, supplies, truck loading and delivery & teardown schedule for each event.- Communicate with all suppliers and provide clear instructions, schedules, maps and diagrams.Warehouse Logistics- Day-to-day warehouse operations, as well as managing inventory and deliveries.- Develop and maintain health & safety best practices for the warehouse and it's users, including full time and contract staff, and volunteers.Logistics Team- Understand the unique operational requirements for each event and build a Logistics Team to meet these needs.- Recruit, train, schedule, manage and evaluate the Logistics Team.- Prepare race manuals and lead training sessions prior to each event.Virtual Races- Create, innovate, plan, and execute as part of a team, the transition and evolution from in-person racing events to virtual events necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic.- Design a strategy, plan operations, source materials, and adhere to a budget for race kit fulfillment. Manage fulfillment operations and planning for safe in-person pickups, sponsor partnerships, local deliveries, and domestic and international shipping options for close to 20,000 total race packages.
