As Head of Engineering Solutions & Project Management at Akila, I leverage my engineering background and project management expertise to drive innovation in HVAC, Energy Management Systems (EMS), and Building Management Systems (BMS). My role involves leading both pre-sales and project management efforts, collaborating closely with clients and partners to deliver tailored, sustainable solutions that enhance building performance.Previously, as a Project Manager/Mechanical Engineer at Jacobs, I successfully managed complex, multi-disciplinary projects for diverse clients, including the Department of Defense (DOD), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and commercial buildings. My responsibilities included overseeing design teams, coordinating with clients, managing budgets, and ensuring projects were completed on time and within scope. I also applied my engineering expertise to design HVAC systems, perform calculations, and work on plumbing and controls.I hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas Christian University, where I gained hands-on experience through internships at Baird, Hampton and Brown, Inc., and Helmerich & Payne. During these internships, I worked on mechanical and HVAC/plumbing design projects and rig operations, which laid the foundation for my engineering career.Driven by an engineer’s perspective, I am passionate about integrating technical excellence with strategic project management to deliver quality and efficiency.
