In my role as a Senior Software Engineer at Research Square Company, I've had a variety of new opportunities that leverage my experience and subject-matter expertise:- I worked more closely with our product team to help prioritize and scope projects and was responsible for facilitating daily standups and sprint planning.- I worked with our China team to plan and deliver a new way of issuing Fapiao (a Chinese payment receipt) to our customers that obviates the need for a third-party vendor, saving us a significant amount of money in processing fees.- I had the opportunity to mentor two direct reports and have aided them in launching several projects, including the launch of digital editing and translation services.

As a software engineer at Research Square Company, I had a wide leeway on how to architect a new product and modernize existing products. My role gave me the opportunity to tackle many large projects. Here are a few that I am very proud of:- I streamlined four different e-commerce purchase processes into a single consistent system for our author services business line.I created a retrospective tool for our various Scrum/Agile teams across the company to revisit their work, have effective conversations, and fuel continuous improvement.- I worked on improving internal tooling and created a Pull Request bot to ensure fellow engineers would review pull requests promptly.- I worked over the course of multiple years to consolidate our legacy tech stack (two versions of a PHP framework, three templating engines, several ways of building assets) into a modern Dockerized API backend with a React/Redux front-end.- I worked with HR to update our survey policy to eliminate the use of gender-specific identifiers, and have had a growing role in DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) initiatives.

Everwondr is an events management platform serving Convention and Visitor Bureaus throughout the state of North Carolina. At Everwondr, I was the sole developer responsible for creating and maintaining the platform.

I was a full stack developer at MadMonk Interactive, a consultancy primary focused on building websites and applications for non-profits in and around Greensboro, NC.
