While this did not represent a significant shift in my role, the company positioning aligned directly with the work on global marketing platforms.Developed a multi-brand marketing platform for Michelin in North America and started a long term relationship supporting their NA team with platforms for content, marketing, and commerce.Drove a significant relationship with Dell around their online customer experiences for consumers, small and medium businesses, and large B2B relationships.Designed and built the booking and post-book experiences for Norwegian Cruise Line, which greatly increased their direct bookings and advanced online sales of onboard experiences.Built the new NASCAR.com to help launch NASCAR Digital Media organization and create a new revenue generating business for the organization in the digital age. In addition to client work, I took on various internal roles, including in our Utilities practice and our eCommerce practice.Built a work management solution for AGL Resources to manage gas pipe installations, working with the Logica platform to build a usable solution in .NET technologies. This involved complex delivery across multiple releases with substantial customization of the client-server solution to enable web- and mobile-based access.Launched a new relationship with Bank of America around Agile development processes, workshop-based solutioning, and the delivery of a common application for banking products. This was an early step in transforming Bank of America to be more nimble.Generated a long-term relationship with the Coca-Cola Company where we advanced their customer experiences in many ways. I led engagements in the global marketing platform initiative, including content and asset management, and global loyalty. I helped to develop the core technology inside the large-screen Interactive Vending machine seen throughout malls in NA, and developed a platform for testing on the Freestyle machine seen in restaurants everywhere. Identified opportunities to keep the existing systems running for several more years to allow the SAP implementation to be wrapped in an impending buyout by Chemtura, saving the company many millions of dollars. Supported and managed the upgraded ERP system so the internal staff could move their careers forward as part of the SAP implementation team. Acted as the interim CIO for a small automotive supplier holding company focused on providing leadership opportunities for African-Americans while solving the automotive industries need for diverse suppliers. As part of this role, assisted in the acquisition of a new supplier to Honda, and designed and built a new MRP system to enable that plant to provide JIT components to the automobile manufacturing line. Provided leadership on IT solutions for the other suppliers owned by the holding company to ensure consistent and effective plant and office systems, advising on several IT system re-implementations and upgrades. -

Worked with an integrated creative and user experience team to define the technology and globalization requirements to deliver the defined experience. Led selection of the content management system, and helped UPS define the overall technology architecture to deliver the combined content and functional elements of the experience across all of their applications. Following design, implemented the content management solution for UPS.com in Interwoven Teamsite (now part of OpenText), supporting over 10,000 pages of content, 15 transactional applications, over 100 countries, and 22 languages. Led the full lifecycle of implementation from selling the deal into design and build, then through launch and support. Architected several first of their kind solutions to modularize page structures in Teamsite, automate content entry form creation, leverage search to create referential integrity between content components, and automate translation integration. -

Product Development ManagerTelinet Technologies, Llc Sep 1996 - Jul 1999Launched Telinet Technologies, a telecommunications and messaging startup, with several Georgia Tech classmates. Designed and built multiple versions of the MediaMail product, which included the first webmail product, and the first integrated voice and fax messaging solutions. Led all aspects of product management, technology design and engineering, development, and delivery. Built a strong team from the ground up, and landed my first “deal” by selling the product into Nortel as a messaging backend to their core switch equipment. Developed customer and client relationships, learned many lessons about business, and matured immensely as a leader and a technologist.
