CurrentI assist mission-based groups and leaders, primarily in the social housing (public and affordable) and community development fields, achieve greater community impact. I contribute as a consultant in several ways, including:• ORGANIZATIONAL ASSESSMENTS/ STRATEGIC DIRECTIONSMy forte is looking at the big picture of an organization’s operating environment. A talent of mine is that I can quickly assess internal and external challenges and opportunities that are important to address. I am curious by nature, ask questions and I’m good at analyzing situational context. I enjoy helping leaders think strategically about their direction, synthesize critical choices and strengthen their lines of business.• CHANGE AND TRANSITION Adapting to changing conditions can be challenging. , it’s also a time that can stimulate creativity and spur entrepreneurial approaches that produce positive results. I can help organizations to contemplate alignments with other community systems, better define and strengthen strategic partnerships, and/or facilitate collaborations /mergers.Additionally, if an organization will be having or is contemplating a leadership change, I can help clarify key issues and plan strategies to reposition or restructure the organization to lead toward a more successful future. I can step in as an advisor, or even as an interim executive director, to work with the board and senior staff to plan for a positive transition. • LEADERSHIP SUPPORT I have a keen interest in strengthening leadership and mentoring executive directors, especially emerging leaders, Drawing on my experience, I can help sharpen leadership skills by providing coaching support.• PUBLIC POLICY / PROGRAM DEVELOPMENTI have a good deal of experience with formulating social housing and community development policies and new initiatives. I am particularly interested in systems alignment issues and keep abreast of promising practices both in the United States and internationally.
