Backend engineer for the Monetization team at an API-based background check company.- Designed and implemented a system for collecting, storing, and utilizing pricing and customer data for Canada-specific background checks, including building out a complete integration with Salesforce and Checkr’s billing system. Ruby, Salesforce APEX, Sinatra, MySQL.- Collaborated with a team of six to build an end-to-end service that automatically detects expungeable records, surfaces those records to the user and allows the user to request an expungement from an outside vendor, Lawyaw (currently in prototype). React/Redux, Ruby on Rails.- Maintained and built features on the company's billing software, built in Ruby with Sinatra, utilizing Kafka as a message bus between other internal services.

On the software development side:- Rebuilding Jobberwocky, the App Academy job seekers' tool for tracking applications and materials, in React.js - Integrating Jobberwocky into the larger App Academy web app - Utilizing test driven development with Jest - Implementing a Flux architectural framework on the Jobberwocky tool, optimizing database calls and frontend rendering On the career coach side:- Guiding bootcamp grads through the job search process - Reviewing and editing resumes, cover letters, and coding projects- Debugging student projects and reviewing their code bases - Advising students on technical and non-technical interview skills through mock interviews, 1-1 meetings, and collaborative whiteboarding - Delivering lectures on job seeking skills and CS algorithms
