Stephen was CEO of BRITE GmbH (Basel, Switzerland) and BRITE Discovery, LLC (Boston, MA), together a global enterprise data management and discovery technology start up. He was accountable for BRITE’s overall business strategy and performance, coordination of the executive leadership team, and oversight of the company’s day-to-day operations.

Among other activities, Stephen provided business counsel to early-stage technology ventures and legal advice and representation to undocumented asylum seekers and refugees.

Stephen was a member of the executive leadership team at Stroz Friedberg, a recognized global leader in investigations, data intelligence and cyber risk management. Among other responsibilities, Stephen was the P&L Leader for all the firm’s U.S. and EMEA businesses, including its premium cyber risk, forensics consulting, and data discovery practices.Prior to that, Stephen was the global leader of Stroz Friedberg’s data discovery practice and its offices in New York City, San Francisco, London, and Zurich. In addition, Stephen actively managed and provided advice and expert testimony on matters that especially benefited from his extensive litigation and technology expertise.

As a Vice President at Pitney Bowes, Stephen was accountable for all of Pitney Bowes Legal Solutions, with over 100 leading U.S. law firms and 440 branch offices as clients. Stephen also oversaw and grew PBLS’ substantial vertical data discovery business. In addition, Stephen led PBLS' horizontal document management solutions business, which rapidly converted large volumes of hard copy and flat digital files into searchable and sortable document sets for corporate, law firm and government agency clients.

As General Manager of Iron Mountain Legal Discovery (f/k/a Stratify), Stephen was responsible for all facets of business strategy, product development, client services, and financial performance. At the same time, Stephen also led Iron Mountain’s global records and information consulting practice.Prior to that, Stephen opened and led Stratify's Boston, NYC, and London offices, and was responsible for managing all of their operations, including hiring talent, local office budgets, and performance execution.At the same time, Stephen was VP of Stratify’s client development, strategy, and services teams, and responsible for crafting and advocating Stratify's product offerings and position in the market, as well as personally identifying and winning $10s of millions per year in new business.

Stephen was an associate and equity partner at Testa Hurwitz, where for 11 years he represented clients in securities class actions, government and internal investigations, patent and intellectual property matters, and other complex commercial litigation that turned on analyzing large volumes of electronic and hard copy data.Stephen also chaired the firm’s diversity and technology committees and was a senior member of the firm’s hiring and performance review committees.

As a litigation associate, Stephen worked on various complex matters, including a three-week securities class action jury trial and other high-stakes cases that turned on making sense out of vast quantities of hard copy and electronic data.

Stephen was chief-of-staff and communications director for Massachusetts state senator (and later U.S. Congressman) John W. Olver. Among other accomplishments, Stephen helped found the Tax Equity Alliance of Massachusetts (TEAM) and hire its first executive director, Jim Braude. He also worked closely with the Massachusetts Tax Reform Commission and Joint Committee on Taxation. Stephen also produced and hosted various television programs that featured John W. Olver and other elected statewide officials.
