Sean Murray is President and CEO of Advocate Printing & Publishing, Advocate Media USA Inc., Metro Guide Publishing, and several other related companies. He believes strongly in social responsibility and leaving the world a better place. With this philosophy in mind, Sean has been celebrated for his leadership in industry and community. He is in the Atlantic CEO’s Hall of Fame, was celebrated as one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40, received the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal, is a Harris Fellow, was named Canadian Print Leader of the Year and is an Honorary life member of News Media Canada. He is a Director of the NS Heart and Stroke Foundation, A founding Director of Citizens for a Healthy Pictou County, Treasurer of the Canadian Printing Industries Scholarship Trust Fund, is Chair of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) Atlantic Canada and is a director of YPO Canada. He was a long serving Director of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Canada, Chair of The Dalhousie Centre for Family Business and Regional Prosperity, A member of the Junior Achievement Advisory Committee, a Director of the Aberdeen Health Foundation, Chair of the taskforce on the Pictou County Economy and an Executive member of Nova Scotia Business Inc. He has served on multiple capital campaigns in the region and has acted as chair of many local, regional, and national organizations. Sean is a proud graduate of Pictou Academy and St. Mary’s University, the Harvard Business School Presidents Program in Leadership, is a Quantum shift fellow and is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors, Directors Education Program receiving the ICD.D designation.Married to Crystal, with four children, Ben, Mac, Georgia, and Tess.
