Regional coordinators (ambassadors) play a key role in helping Flying Scholarships for Disabled People (FSDP) meet its objectives of raising funds and increasing awareness and understanding of its work amongst both potential donors/supporters and potential applicants. Each region (North and South) has four coordinators working independent of, but subordinate to, the FSDP General Manager and Trustees.Main tasks include coordinating and liaising with local groups and organisations to arrange, and where required to give, talks and presentations to both further scholarship applications and to further fundraising and awareness for FSDP. Coordinators are also to look at sourcing suitable applicants, organising scholar-led social activities (including opportunities to fly), and to research local flying schools for possible use by FSDP.
