Hello, I'm Sean! I recently graduated from National University of Singapore with a double degree in Information Systems and Business Administration. Specialising in Financial Technology allowed me to work with emerging technologies like blockchain and machine learning to tackle problems ranging from KYC to deepfakes and cryptocurrencies to Wealth Management Marketing in the Finance industry. I enjoy solving business problems through innovative IT solutions. The intersection between Finance and IT fascinates me as both industries impact the lives of many and keep our world spinning. Beyond my studies, I am deeply passionate about the fashion industry and the future of retail and fashion. My interest in fashion began when I attended art school at a young age. The glamorous editorials and spreads of the leading fashion magazines caught my eye. Over time, the craftsmanship of dressmaking enchanted me. My grandmother had an amazing wardrobe where she educated me on the finer qualities of tailoring and exposed me to fashion business. During my national service, I started to sew and explored different pattern making, sewing and draping techniques. Before university, I interned at a local fashion & beauty PR firm where I learned about the intricacies of the industry. It was an eye-opening experience as I discovered what it meant to be "fuelled by passion" as I was in touch with fashion everyday (manning the closet was a dream). In university, I started a fashion society (R4Moda) with likeminded friends. I'm proud of our achievement - R4Moda has become what we envisioned - a space for fashion-loving people to pursue their diverse passion and interest in fashion. In my time there, we have hosted several technical workshops on sewing, draping, spoken about pertinent issues like gender diversity and the future of fashion with KOLs and hosted two fashion challenges that culminated with fashion shoots.My passion for fashion still burns bright, but I have decided to focus on a career in finance and technology, before (somehow) returning to the fashion industry later as a technologist or consultant.In addition, I am genuinely curious about farming and food security as I recognise the importance of sustainable agriculture for our future.
