In total I have published nine (9) books, including Western Canadian regional history, Canadian history, poetry and a novel. I worked as a freelance journalist since 1990, freelancing for a variety of newspapers and magazines in the East and West Kootenay region of BC as well as in Victoria, BC. Although mostly retired from journalism now, I offer manuscript editing services through my website www.seanarthurjoyce.ca where many positive client comments can be viewed. My poetry has been published since the late 1980s and I have published five collections of poems, three of them with New Orphic Publishers of Nelson, BC and two with Chameleon Fire Editions, the latest book titled "Diary of a Pandemic Year." My poetry has been positively reviewed by Canadian literary icons such as Gary Geddes, bill bissett, and Tom Wayman. I have designed limited edition works for other poets, including Timothy Shay, Chad Norman, Margaret Hornby and Catherine Owen, published under my imprint Chameleon Fire Editions (established 1990). In May 2014 my Canadian history title "Laying the Children's Ghosts to Rest: Canada's Home Children in the West" (Hagios Press, Regina) was published and sold out its first edition. It was supported by a tour of 24 cities across Canada and was favourably reviewed in the Vancouver Sun, Canada's History and Event literary magazine. In 2018 my first novel, "Mountain Blues," was published by NeWest Press. Reviewers rate both books consistently at 4 stars on Goodreads. I am highly self-motivated and prefer to be given a task and then left to do it on my own with minimal supervision as I am highly capable in a variety of areas noted in this profile.
