Unique technologies for the liquor industry

I provide mechanical, thermal, automotive and aerospace engineering consulting. I have expertise in fabrication, manufacturing, rapid prototyping, instrumentation, and device testing.

Design and failure analysis, including expert testimony for clients in the transportation, aerospace, oil and gas, and consumer electronics industries. I was retained by clients for my expertise in automotive engines, chassis systems, and performance; lithium ion batteries; consumer appliances; unmanned aerial vehicles; sensor systems and advanced testing; and industrial equipment and manufacturing processes.

As a prototyping engineer for the Rapid Equipping Force, I developed tactical solutions for soldiers and operational units in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. I was deployed alongside both conventional Army and Special Operations Forces.Technical aspects of the work include 3D printing, high-speed CNC machining, metal fabrication, electronics and embedded microcontrollers, wireless communications, and repair of tactical equipment and machines. Projects included soldier-worn systems; vehicle modifications; weapon systems modifications; Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems; Force Protection systems.

I performed NASA-funded research focused on experiments studying the complex flow of cryogenics, primarily rocket fuel used in the Space Shuttle Main Engines (SSME). I used "lasers" and other high-speed data acquisition equipment to develop new analytical correlations that corrected the space-race age (1960s) method for performing fluids research and design using difficult fluids like cryogenics in a way that is well known in liquids like water.

This DARPA-funded startup performed research and prototype design of a machine that converts existing waste (sawdust, MRE packaging, plastics) into heat, charcoal and combustible gas, eventually becoming a self-fueling power station that runs on garbage. My role was design and testing of the combustor and other thermal systems.

My role in R&D involved designing prototype domestic (water) flow meters. This included experience in measurement systems, flowpath design, metal casting, plastic injection molding, and durability testing. I participated in field testing and setup, supplier sourcing, and long-term project management.

CTech Racing was an automotive performance and racing shop focused on the design and fabrication of turbocharger induction and engine performance systems for street and racing cars. Design processes included CAD, CNC machining, welding, and dynamometer and track testing. During this venture I gained a lot of valuable proficiency in electronic sensing and engine control systems.

My function was primarily the design of rubber processing and tire pressing including fabric weaving, rubber mixing, conveyor systems and steam, pneumatic and hydraulic machinery. The bulk of the plant's products were large passenger and light truck tires for the BF Goodrich and Uniroyal brands. I designed, redesigned, and helped maintain manufacturing equipment involved in every step of the tire building process.I also worked with plant maintenance performing safety/reliability analysis and had experience interacting with contractors on large machine alignment, bearing grinding and installation of pneumatic programmable logic (PLC) systems.
