About Sean Blackwell

I bring mental health and criminal justice practitioner experience to bear in teaching a range of criminology and sociology courses. In my role as Department Chair, I supervise our Anthropology & Sociology major and minor programs (including Criminology) and provide professional development, mentoring, and curricular oversight. My research interests include community corrections (probation/parole), wildlife trafficking, policing, crime/media studies, and almost any opportunity to apply qualitative and ethnographic methodological approaches. I am committed to interdisciplinary scholarship and pedagogy with a focus on preparing students to live productive and fulfilling lives.
