About Sean Blamires

I am passionate about scientific research, science education (as a NESA accredited teacher), scientific innovation, and data science applications, and have worked equally across these fields. My research history is on spider silks focusing primarily on the functionality of properties from nano to macro scales, with the aim of developing and utilizing synthetic silk materials for a range of applied purposes.I am also the founder of the Spider Silk Research Lab, which drives innovation in material development, analytics, and cross-disciplinary education through worldwide inter-disciplinary research and teaching collaborations. I am also co-founded the company Spider & Silk Supply, which supplies spider silk, for research, engineering, manufacturing, and education worldwide. I am the author of 'Silk: Exploring Nature's Superfibre'.
