Headquartered in Boston and structured in ROCs (Regional Operating Centers) for Africa, the Americas, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Mid-East & Northern Africa, and the U.S., the organization serves 10.3 million students in 122 countries with 3,000 staff, and 430,000 volunteers.Recruited to design, win support for, and execute strategic governance changes to support the organization's global programs and market expansion following the merger of U.S. and international operating units. ■ Reconstructed the balance sheet and business model in the wake of the 2008 recession revamping a failed $9M information systems project and rebidding all major vendor contracts. ■ Overhauled the governance structure; built-up the Board; and restructured the membership fee structure to provide a stronger platform for the organization's global initiatives. ■ Developed stronger branding; grew funding; implemented a new global member agreement; and published two significant reports on global youth unemployment and JA's impact on young people.
