Responsibilities include cleaning up cell image data, analyzing, preparing, and working with team feedback in order to tune the data to the requested specifications. I have been working with microbiologists, neuroscientists, data scientists, and biologists to image live neurons utilizing new multi-pigmentation methods in order to understand the morphology and physiology of cells in live tissue. Working with experienced data scientists at CBI to learn computational techniques and apply them to our dataset. Cleaning up the wet lab data and rendering it using Fiji Image, NIS, and Imaris in order to create representative and distinct models of live neurons.https://www.shemeshlab.com/

Responsibilities include working with the sleep lab team in collaboration with study representatives in order to ethically and respectfully obtain physiological data on participants in response to each study. Working with unique studies which require specific head, face, torso, and leg wire-ups in conjunction with following study procedures to ensure the studies will obtain high-quality data. This includes ensuring each step of the participant's study procedure is followed such as time-sensitive cognitive testing, Dim Light Melatonin Onset (DLMO) collection, EEG, EKG, EOG, EMG wire-ups, data collection as well as overnight participant monitoring. This includes working with various participant populations and ensuring they understand what we are doing and why.

As an undergraduate TA for Neuroscience: Brain and Behavior, I was responsible for creating homework assignments, creating and presenting biweekly PowerPoint presentations for the class during recitations, and holding office hours in which I tutored individuals 1-2 times per week. I learned how to break down large concepts into digestible chunks for students and frame ideas in different ways in order to help them better grasp difficult concepts. Creating recitation lesson plans and creating homework assignments improved my ability to convey information and provoke new thoughts in the students.
