Offer youth structured, one-to-one, strength-based support services for the purpose of addressing daily living, social and communication needs.Assist the youth in developing communication skills, enhancing conflict resolution skills and teaching of pro-social strategies through targeted activities.Support, coach and train the youth in age-appropriate behaviors, interpersonal communication, problem-solving and conflict resolution, and relating appropriately to other children, adolescents, and adults in recreational and social activities pursuant to a behavioral health treatment plan.Expose youth to social situations in which age-appropriate skills can be acquired and practiced, through role playing and behavioral rehearsals.Support, coach and train the youth to support linkages to community resources and services that will sustain the youth’s optimal functioning in the community.Meet with the youth’s family to share skill building activities, updates on progress and engage in treatment goals.Meet with providers and attend all IEP, hospital discharge, treatment team and other relevant meetings.Ensure proper completion of quarterly documentation including a detailed Lesson Plan that identifies goals, an anticipated schedule for meeting with youth, and a timeline for goal completion as well as proper transition/discharge documentation.Enter all documentation and billing requirements into electronic medical record within established deadlines.

Provide support to each individual as part of the multi-disciplinary team.Provide side by side interventions that focus on problem-solving, skill training modeling, optimism, and encouragement.Work with the team and each individual in the development of a person-centered treatment plan.Assist each individual in being fully integrated into their communities by supporting them in the development of natural supports.Empower each individual to exercise control over their lives, focused on their treatment, leisure activities, employment, and their personal recovery.

Management of department resources to ensure maximum output, accuracy, and efficiency at all times.Meet or exceed all established standards for accuracy, productivity, department and/or corporate policies and procedures.Implement and ensure that all department employees receive specific and detailed orientation, skills and safety training, appropriate materials and information, regular evaluations, and pro-active coaching to support their continued development plan.Establish and maintain an aggressive cross-training program within the department to promote development, enhance flexibility, and ensure backup coverage of vital functions and processes.Function as an effective liaison and advocate on all levels to ensure that employee, department, and corporate needs are addressed in a timely and productive manner.Establish and promote a positive, team-oriented work environment emphasizing employee involvement, pro-active communication, inter-departmental cooperation, and continual improvement on all levels.Responsible to ensure that all employees always adhere to safety policies and procedures, operating in full compliance with department, station, corporate, and OSHA requirements.

Complete incident reports, transport youth to court or appointments outside the program, as needed, complete medical, visitor, and daily operations’ logs and inform appropriate personnel during meetings and shift changes.Interact and facilitate discussions with family members and visitors to encourage family engagement and identify positive supports for the youth while in custody.Collaborate as a part of a team to teach, supervise and/or participate with youth in various daily living activities, such as making beds, cleaning their bedrooms, and daily hygiene.Serve as a role model and develop and maintain a constructive, positive relationship with youth while assisting them in developing coping, social, and life skills, and providing guidance and support through daily interaction and promoting Positive Youth Development (PYD).Provide crisis and behavior management to de-escalate and help calm youth in potentially dangerous situations and restrain youth as needed to prevent endangering the health and safety of other youth and staff in the residential program.
