From an early age, I had aspirations to push boundaries and become an entrepreneur. After gaining qualifications in sales and marketing, I found I had a natural talent for communication, sales promotions, strategy and business growth. This led me to launch my first marketing business at age 29. Over the years I have worked across many industries including banking, liquor, telecommunications and pharmaceuticals. The major brands and household names I have worked with include Kraft Foods, Budget Rent A Car, Simplot and Penfolds Wines. The secret to my success is a long-held belief that you need to stay ahead of the curve and be a trend maker, not a follower. Building on my foundations as a print, radio and TV marketer, I have extended my skills to cover the spectrum of digital marketing. I maintain a keen interest in all the complex and multifaceted approaches required to market a product or service in the digital age.At the time of selling my business, it had grown to employ 1200 staff across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Shanghai. I am now extremely privileged to be invited to offer my leadership skills on the boards of numerous other Australian organisations. As Chairman and Non-Executive Director on the board of several businesses I provide mentoring and management advice, working with top level CEOs and forward-thinking teams and guiding them to achieve excellence. I continue to refuse to limit myself to one industry, and thoroughly enjoy challenging the teams with whom I work to find smarter, better ways of doing things.
