I was a part of a team that helped bride the Art graduate students with administration and organize group shows and in committees for events/ideas for the Art Department. We helped concerns grad student had with the program and problem solve their grievances. I was also able to attend Art Department teacher meetings and was used as a reference for the student body.

Maintained the flow of clay, glazes and firings. Organized and lead a weekly schedule of studio cleanings. Hired and trained student employees. Upgraded elements of the studio from dry material storage to gaze test tiles to building new tables for throwing wheels, etc. Developed the format of the position for the next years to come.

I teach a Scupltural Narratives class. My goal is to explain artistic journaling and mind mapping to develop students individual ceramic projects. I also taught Intro. to Wheel throwing class.

Help run the ceramic dept. at Lillstreet Art Center: fire reduction kilns, repair electric kilns, teach ceramic classes, hold office hours for students, also retain reproductivity in my studio and developing my artist process.

I teach a hand-building class that will develop the skills you will need to know how to make any type of sculpture in clay. This class’s progression will build your knowledge from pinch pots to coil building to building with slabs to working from a solid form. By breaking down different processes, you will understand, structurally, how to build the forms you have in mind. It will open your process up to creative freedom.

Artist Statement:As we engage the world around us, there are certain moments that push us to be something more. In these moments, our true personalities come to surface. My work is an attempt to set up a narrative to showcase certain aspects of a character’s personality in these defining moments. When developing a character, I see what is at the core of their being and reveal it by their behavior toward a plot. As an actor would dissolve a character, I break down the psychology to project an honest response to the scene. By studying the human figure, I understand where I can push the human condition. Within these characters, I project the layers of their innermost self.
