About Sean Cummiskey

After joining CSQ in 2017, I am currently the General Manager Industry Services & Procurement, responsible for leading the design and implementation of CSQ’s stakeholder engagement framework and career pathways strategy. In this role I am also accountable for CSQ’s procurement and supplier assurance activity, with responsibility for procuring and managing close to ~$50M of workforce services for the construction industry annually. Prior to joining CSQ, I held a range of leadership roles in private enterprise, and the Vocational and Tertiary sectors, including higher education institutions and private vocational providers, peak industry bodies, and leading workforce development programs for both State and Federal governments. Tertiary Qualified in organisational development and commerce, I am a passionate advocate for the benefits education can provide, and am currently focused on leading the review and relaunch of CSQ’s suite of programs focused on attracting talent into the Queensland construction industry. Key Skills - Extensive knowledge of the Australian training and education system, acquired through management roles in enterprise and industry peak bodies, higher education, private vocational providers and program management for both State and Federal governments. - An accomplished commercial leader in workforce development, focused on enhancing business performance through providing innovative and effective workforce solutions, while adhering to relevant compliance and regulation. - Experienced in developing & executing sales & market strategy, acquired through Executive business development roles, and building a successful sales strategy for one of Australia’s largest private education groups. - Highly developed relationship skills, and the ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders including government, on a wide variety of key issues.     As part of Construction Skills Queensland's (CSQ) Executive Leadership Team, I lead a regionally dispersed team of 15 throughout Queensland, and have primary accountability for leading CSQ’s industry development and capability program with a range of principal contractors, projects and stakeholders.
