GBN specialises in creating media partnerships between Chinese and Western media companies. It negotiated the first sales of radio airtime with Chinese state controlled broadcaster China National Radio (CNR) , to promote UK Premiership soccer in China.

The UK’s national news agency, established in 1868. I was in sole charge of the broadcasting department and responsible for the successful introduction of multimedia including training of print journalists and press photographers in video gathering.

INP was the first independent television news agency in the UK providing footage shot on the first Hi-8 cameras to broadcasters worldwide. It specialised in human rights stories. From 1993 we started providing foreign news broadcasters with traditional UK bureau facilities. INP offered television crews, editing, producers and outside broadcast facilities to a number of European broadcasters, including SAT-1, N-24, TG5, RTL and AT2. INP produced and distributed news stories and award winning documentaries worldwide. I sold the company to the Press Association in April 2002.

Managing Director. I co-founded this company in 1999 to manage commercial jobs that were spun off from International News Productions. TNR produces corporate videos, video and radio news releases and organises media training for company executives, charities and PR companies. Clients included Speedo, Nokia, Guinness World Records, The National Lottery, Drambuie and British Gas. I sold my shareholding to the Press Association in 2002. TNR Communications is now wholly owned by the Press Association.

I established the foreign network of correspondents and television facilities worldwide, for what was the first pan-Arab satellite television news service. I was in charge of the news output and outside broadcasts including 24 hour live coverage of the first Middle East Peace Talks in Madrid and Washington.

Set up and ran the news service for BSB television. In charge of a newsroom broadcasting over sixty themed bulletins for five stations 24 hours a day. BSB was acquired by Sky Television in Dec 1990.

I joined as a scriptwriter at Worldwide Television News (WTN) and progressed to satellite editor, sports editor, senior foreign editor and finally as News Operations Manager. I travelled extensively as a field producer covering international news stories around the world from the winter and summer Olympics, the civil war in Lebanon, the soccer world cup, the collapse of the communist governments in Eastern Europe including the fall of the Berlin Wall and the first Gulf war. I represented WTN at European Broadcasting Union meetings and other international forums. WTN was acquired by the Associated Press and renamed APTN in 2003.
