Supporting research in three of the House Institute Foundations Centers: Auditory Prostheses, Ménière's Disease, and Pediatric Hearing Health.

Managed several HIV clinical trials (IMPAACT 2017, AMP Up, TERBO/ASTRO, ECHO), investigational and observational. Worked on several COVID-19 clinical trials (J&J adult vaccine, Moderna pediatric vaccine, Novavax adult vaccine, COMPASS, Children with COVID in Colorado), both investigational vaccine studies and observational prevalence and cross-sectional studies. Worked on study start-up, maintenance, and close-out. Managed large (300,000+ patient) databases. Constantly worked to recruit and retain study participants, ensure positive experiences at study visits, and help connect participants to clinical needs lying outside of research staff purview. Processed COVID-19 blood samples in the lab, and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) for HIV studies. Wrote and revised manuscripts for journal submission.

Managed the distribution of >$4,000 in cash equivalent market dollars each Saturday as part of the county's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) program. Fostered relationships with regulars and worked with newcomers to ensure they felt welcome and knew the full extent of their benefits.

Investigated the involvement of epigenetic factors in the initiation and progression of Parkinson's disease, especially with a focus on the gut-brain axis. Routined performed IHC/IHF procedures, conducted informal literature reviews, and wrote manuscripts. Co-author of article "Hemispheric asymmetry in the human brain and in Parkinson’s disease is linked to divergent epigenetic patterns in neurons" forthcoming in Genome Biology, December 2020.

Experience in Romance Languages & Literatures Speech Production Lab culminated with the publication of senior thesis, "Filled pauses are susceptible to cross-language phonetic influence: evidence from Afrikaans-Spanish bilinguals," in Studies in Second Language Acquisition, June 2020.

Writing Fellow (Fall 2016-June 2017), Writing Fellow Mentor (September 2017 - present)Worked alongside statistics professors to incorporate the budding MWrite program into an introductory statistics course, directing students with regard to their writing assignments, grading those assignments, and providing quality feedback. Attended a weekly seminar at which I learned different writing and revising strategies both to apply in my own writing in STEM fields and to use in advising students during my office hours or via email.

The Borjigin Lab is a neuroscience lab with ongoing studies that concern circadian rhythms, the brain-heart connection, endogenous hallucinogens, and the neurobiology of the dying brain.
