As Head of Procurement for Construction and FM within UK Shared Business Services Ltd (UK SBS) managing a team of sector specialists delivering an end to end integrated procurement service that provides our clients with the products and services that they require to function as entities. Developing a centralised construction category on behalf of Crown Commercial Services supported by the Government Construction Strategy Team in the Cabinet Office. Achieving the objectives of supporting the Commercial Reform programme, by making best use of capability and combined capacity.The primary ethos of the Procurement function is to implement sourcing solutions that deliver enhanced value and benefits to out clients. This ultimately reduces the administrative burden and creates opportunities for benefits enabling more money to be returned to our clients' core activities, from research to developing UK business.The function is targeted with the delivery of significant benefits over 10 years which will largely be achieved through the implementation of a category management methodology.When sourcing, Procurement has the explicit purpose of maximising the synergies between our customers. Where common requirements exist, options are developed in parallel with representative customer specialists and subsequent solutions implemented to drive improved value and benefit.UK SBS Procurement provides a wide range of services and dedicated Category Managers to support specialist and niche requirements such as research consumables, Antarctic field equipment, complex research equipment and leading edge information technology. Procurement consists of a group of professionals who manage and deliver customer needs prioritisation, solution evaluations, sourcing, supplier performance and relationship management.

Working autonomously, under direction as and when required, to lead teams with diverse responsibilities, where external representation is a significant part of the role, to provide advice, analysis and support to the service area, focusing on the needs of the defined localities within Herefordshire. Monitoring and managing contracts and commissioning arrangements, influencing providers to meet targets and enhance services. Designing service plans covering 2-3 years to deliver, manage and monitor the use of available financial, physical and human resources, making efficiency savings as required. Act as a specialist technical reference for the service and its customers, maintaining and applying an up-to-date knowledge of expertise area.Co-ordinate and integrate HPS resources and associated functions to manage both routine and significantly complex business issues and risks to meet agreed service standards. Commission customer requirements based on analysis across localities and inform service specifications.Implementing better ways of working to improve policies, systems, practices and procedure.Participate effectively and contribute to corporate programmes to help deliver change management and service improvements. Manage others, setting clear goals, and deliver a coherent approach to staff development and training within the service area to continuously improve performance.Understand and meet all required legislation and governance to deliver the required standards

He has 30 years experience in very diverse industries such as Telecommunications, Semi-conductors, Petro-Chemicals and Automotive. He has excellent strategic and operational management skills as a result of his extensive prior experience. For the last seven years Sean has been engaged as a Supplier Champion on the Welsh Assembly’s highly successful Supplier Development Service. As part of the project Sean assisted Welsh small to medium enterprises win £133,740,000 of new contracts in both the public and private sector and help create or safeguard 276 jobs.
