I was appointed Manager of the OHS integration project of these businesses into the BlueScope Steel Safety Management Systems, risk management processes (including a review of high risk activities and the systems of control), safety leadership principles and the management of the Safety Regulator in each state with respect to the Self Insurance licenses,In late 2014, I was seconded to lead up an Australia wide “Small Site Safety” Project, to deliver a simplified safety management system designed to ease the compliance burden and refocus the activities to manage material risk. It is designed for small sites / branches that predominantly reside in regional Australia with no direct safety support. The deliverables I achieved included, the design of a set of principles to guide the project for senior management sign-off, the development of key safety elements for small site safety based on BlueScope's Safety Standards, and significant reduction of system compliance requirements. -
