I previously worked as a Long Term, Full Time Substitute Theology Teacher at the Academy of the Holy Cross, an all-girls Catholic high school located in Kensington, MD. I was responsible for teaching ten different classes of students in the course of the Fall and Spring semesters. In addition to taking attendance and providing basic supervision in according with the school handbook, I prepared lesson plans and various individual and group activities. I graded homework and other student assignments, including quizzes, tests as well as midterm and final exams. Additionally I provided the students with extra-help, a plethora of handouts and study guides for their classes, as well as class review game activities to help them learn and retain information for their tests in a more relaxed yet still edifying educational environment. For a year between the summers of 2012 and 2013, I served as the Director of Religious Education at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rockville, MD. My responsibilities included the oversight of the hiring and training of new teachers and aides, and the provision of materials for all of the program’s volunteers. I also directed the management of several programs, including the CCD program, the RCIA program, and our Adult Religious Education programs, such as the adult Bible Study and such Archdiocesan programs as Living Catholic. In the course of my duties, I authored a lengthy catechetical program for all catechumens and candidates, a curriculum replete with thoughtfully-tailored handouts and guest speakers whom I engaged. I planned and ran retreats for both First Communion and Confirmation, and ensured that all of the children had fulfilled the necessary requirements of the program prior to sacramental reception. Furthermore, on multiple occasions when substitute teachers were unavailable, I stepped in to instruct the middle school children.

I worked as both a Driver and Interceptor for Drivers Incorporated. As a Driver I was responsible for driving clients, in their own vehicle, to and from various destinations in the DMV area. As an Interceptor I was responsible for picking up the company's Drivers upon their completion of driving assignments.

I worked as a part-time Chess Instructor at the Olympia Chess Academy. I instructed students in kindergarten up to fourth grade in two afterschool programs at Oakridge Elementary School and Tuckahoe Elementary School, both located in Arlington, VA. Each week I reviewed the basics and helped the students improve their chess skills with both classroom instruction and one-on-one assistance. I can gladly say that the students were able both to learn in a comfortable environment as well as enjoy themselves.

I worked as the Campus Minister at St. Thomas More Catholic Campus Ministry at the Alibrandi Catholic Center at Syracuse University. This followed up on several years of student activity in that ministry. I planned and led two intercollegiate retreats and two high school confirmation retreats, successfully assembling committed teams of students. I was also responsible for the training, guidance and scheduling of our ministry’s lectors and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. In addition to paid office-time, I conducted three weekly Bible Studies and a weekly Catholic Q & A information session available to all students. Topics included why Catholics pray to saints, the nature of papal infallibility, and Catholic teachings on birth control. I also taught and planned an extensive curriculum for a weekly confirmation class for two undergraduate students.
