Update 2023: we relocated from Virginia to Indiana to be closer to family! I no longer serve as a sworn LEO with CCPD, Ruling Elder at WEPC (PCA), or participate as frequently in USPSA; however, my education and training with sports science, nutrition, lifting, running, etc., continues! I am a full-time father and husband, but I do hop on the walking desk now in an attempt to find online/remote freelance/Independent Contractor work in some way to use my knowledge and skills. Thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Update 2020: I ended up in Law Enforcement in 2016 based upon my new interests, opportunities, and meetings at RVA area job fairs. (I can always return to molecular biology or some other scientific pursuit later on in life if I so desire.) I'm also now an amateur competitive action/practical shooter (mostly USPSA) on a sponsored team, certified USPSA Range Officer, certified Instructor for my police department, and deacon of my local PCA church.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Over the past five years, I have engaged in biomedical research, specifically cancer-related molecular biology. Outside of science, I have diverse experience including volunteer work at a pediatric hospital, moderating an online forum, camp counseling, and sales. I have worked independently, under supervisors, as part of a team, and as a group leader. My wife, Nicole, and I recently moved down here to Virginia from Pennsylvania. I was happily employed at the University of Pittsburgh Drug Discovery Institute, but Nicole was offered a position we could not pass up. Since we have settled into the Richmond area, I am searching for an occupation as well. I am open to new, perhaps vastly different (i.e. outside of my field), challenges and learning opportunities. I would appreciate a visit, or phone call, to discuss prospects that may apply—and enhance—my skills and knowledge, whether or not there are any posted available positions.
