As a Global Trade Specialist, I help to ensure the import/export of goods or technology complies with applicable government laws and regulations. Responsibilities include classification of goods or technology being imported/exported, obtaining import/export licenses, completion or retention of required documentation and compilation of reports, and analysis of import/export processes. Additionally as a Trade Specialist I help work on programs or projects to determine methods for improving efficiency or effectiveness and coordination with internal and external stakeholders (including government authorities).

• Analyze proposed SSL export transactions, determine appropriate licensing vehicle, and prepare ITAR and EAR export license applications and agreement applications using established U.S. Government formats; assemble and distribute application packages for internal review; transmit packages to Washington D.C.• Follow-up on export licenses and agreements approved by the U.S. Government and returned to SSL for implementation; provide guidance and assistance in interpreting and accommodating government limitations and requirements to SSL exporters/requesters who utilize the license/approved agreement in conducting transactions with international content.• Follow-up on in-process customer or supplier licensing documents with SSL Program Management Offices and/or Contracts/Subcontracts Managers for timely execution; ensure that such SSL Managers have a full understanding of the limitations imposed by the U.S. Government upon the conduct of the licensed activity as well as reporting and document signature and submission requirements; as directed by the Export Licensing Manager, prepare and submit signed license document correspondence to the USG and forward copies internally; maintain records of such actions.• Ensure signatures are obtained for SSL marketing licenses; coordinate with Marketing and Sales department to identify points of contact in foreign entities; ensure submission of signed copies, required forms and other reporting documents to the U.S. Government..
