Sean started out in the Public Safety field at the age of 15 in a Junior Firefighter program. He then took a firefighter course with his father and passed with flying colors. After volunteering with his father at the fire department he took an EMT Basic course and joined a volunteer rescue squad as well. Emergency vehicle operations course was the next step and he took that and again passed with flying colors. After a few years in the rescue squad and fire department, serving as a firefighter, EMT-Basic, Driver/Operator, Junior Program Mentor, and Secretary to the Rescue Chief, He joined Fredericksburg Rescue Squad and again served as a EMT-Basic and Driver/Operator. It was at this time that he also began his career in Corrections. He landed a position as a Corrections Officer for Haynesville Correctional Center. After his first year in corrections he was promoted to Corrections Officer Senior, and was then placed on posts with more responsibilities. He then became a Field Training Officer and assisted the facility in training their new Officers. During his time at Haynesville Correctional Center he worked under many different shifts and supervisors and has been an asset to Haynesville in working on many different posts as well as for and with many different people; and still to this day is one of the few Corrections staff at Haynesville Correctional Center who retains as many certifications pertaining to casework, re-entry for offenders, probation and parole, gangs, safety, etc. During his tenure at Fredericksburg Rescue Squad he became an Operations Sergeant with Fredericksburg Rescue and then a First Sergeant of Operations and then eventually became a Captain of Operations. At the age of 27, after over a decade of FIRE and EMS service, He and his wife had a child and they both decided to step back from so much time and effort in volunteering and focus on their careers and raising their child. After a short break from Fire and EMS, and eleven years of service in the Dept. of Corrections, Sean once again immersed himself in public service; joining King and Queen County Emergency Services as a full time Firefighter and EMT-Basic. In addition, Sean also has taken on a part time position with Richmond County Emergency Services as a Firefighter and EMT-Basic.
