Escorted 2,081 personnel and 410 vehicles which led to 26 successful convoy missions to support the Battalions Field Training Exercise in order to certify for deployment worldwide. As a driver and mechanic for the Convoy Security element I was responsible for 100% accountability of all personnel and gear assigned to my truck and the maintenance to keep the truck running. Assumed duties as vehicle commander supervising and holding responsibilities for 4 personnel, 2 secure communications assets, live ammunition and firearms to support land based security in support of classified waterborne assets moving to and from INDOPACOM Naval Port. As Shop Supervisor I led 11 personnel in the preventative and corrective maintenance of 361 units of CESE assigned to NMCB 11 Detachment INDOPACOM which resulted in 65 vehicles coming out of deadline status and returning to active status. This resulted in an equipment availability rating of 86% which allowed us to support multiple missions throughout the Pacific Theatre. Led 800 hours of warfare specialty training for two different warfare qualifications. This resulted in 28 sailors attaining warfare qualifications vital to their careers. Also facilitated 8 hours of general military training in the subject of Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) as a yearly training requirement.
Hazmat Coordinator, Floor Mechanic (Seabee, Active)
Responsible HAZMAT and HAZWASTE programs to ensure proper Petroleums, Oils and Lubricants (POLs) are being stored properly and on hand for scheduled maintenance while waste is being stored and removed in accordance with environmental policies and local, state and federal laws accordingly for both stateside and overseas missions. Rebuilt from the ground up a HAZMAT/ HAZWASTE program for Battalion Maintenance facility which constituted in over $8,000 worth of HAZMAT/ HAZWASTE either being reorganized and stored properly or being removed and disposed of permanently as a majority of the HAZWASTE had long been expired. This “blueprint” was utilized again on deployment sites across the globe by each detachment's respective HAZMAT Coordinator.The attention to detail in rebuilding the HAZMAT program led the Battalion’s Maintenance facility to receive outstanding remarks from both Base and Higher HQs inspection teams and set NMCB 11 apart from sister components on the base. During deployment to Bahrain 465 preventative maintenance actions and 32 interim repairs on 26 units of CESE were completed in a 6 month timeframe to maintain detachment equipment availability at 96% in support of the airfield emergency repair mission.
