Current:Engineering Manager of the Enterprise Discovery SquadPreviously: Engineering Manager of the Analytics and Integrations Squad • This squad was responsible for integrating with 3rd party applicant tracking systems such as Workday, Greenhouse, and ICIMS and for in-app analytics. • Created a proposal for a stability project and worked with senior engineers through actioning the project. During my time as EM, we went from sixteen customer reported bugs in six months to three customer reported bugs in six months.• Onboarded a team in Romania to take over product areas. Engineering Manager of the Domain Events Squad • Engineering Manager of a team responsible for Handshake’s streaming data platform, the Domain Events Platform (DEP), built on Google Pub/Sub and Ruby on Rails.• Grew the team from one engineer to four over six months. Responsible for their career growth and success at Handshake.• During my team as manager, the DEP grew from being used by zero production use cases in the Fall of 2021 to publishing over 20 million messages per week in the Fall of 2022. Worked with the team to scale the DEP to meet the needs of predicted traffic, scaling the DEP from publishing 6,000 messages per minute on a single topic to 32,000 messages per minute on a single topic in three months.• Filled the role of engineering manager and product manager of the team. Worked across departments to create product requirements, including writing a product review document for the platform.• Engaged in architectural design reviews to ensure we build a scalable, reliable platform.• Managed on-call for the Platform Services department, including creating and running “gameday practices” for engineers to practice incident response roles in a no-risk environment.

Back-end engineer. Developing core services for the Handshake app including an event-driven platform used for communication between services, authentication, and emails. Tech stack: RoR, GCP, Kubernetes and Terraform.

• Built a suite of products for DJs using Python, Django, GCP, Kubernetes, Helm, and React• Moved Beatport store front end from a legacy PHP API to a new Python Django API in an effort to move all products from a data center to GCP. This includes reverse engineering legacy PHP code into more simple, scalable, and versatile Python code as well as reimplementing Flask Middleware to use the new Python Django API rather than the legacy PHP API• Refactored hundreds of front-end tests from hitting an api to use fixture data• Made major performance improvements to our Python Django API including the introduction of profiling tools to analyze performance bottlenecks, resolving a six month long issue with API responses timing out, and decreasing API response time to improve website page load time by 150%• Implemented Cybersource/Paypal Express Checkout integration to accept PayPal payments • Drove adoption of Terraform to codify infrastructure changes• Developed deploy pipeline for a core API using Google Cloud Builder, Helm, Kubernetes, and Docker • Resolved issues in heritage software during a major data center outage• Participated in the hiring process by conducting interviews
